Soap2day – Michael B. Jordan amazes Dr. Dre. Michael, who is 36, asked if he could use some of his music in "Creed III" The rap legend, who is 58, said he was impressed by Michael. Mike came to my house and showed me the movie, and I thought he was crazy, Dre told Entertainment Tonight.
"First time making a movie and starring in it? You'd have to be crazy to do that, because it's really hard. I was so proud of him, though. I told him, "Listen, man, I can't wait to see what comes next from your mind as far as the direction goes." It was great."
"Creed III" also makes Dre "really proud." He said, "I really liked what they did. I'm very happy with it." Even so, Michael recently admitted that it was "hard" to direct and star in "Creed III." The actor said that he needed his "team" to help him keep all of his responsibilities in check.
He said, "It's hard. You sometimes got a mouthpiece or gloves. So many people depend on you all the time. Your team is all that matters. So, it's easier for me to be in the middle of a boxing scene because I can sometimes direct while I'm acting. If I need to move you a little bit upstage, I just move like this, and I get the shot I need."
Michael also said that the fight scenes in the movie were based on "Japanese anime." He said, "I think being put in a corner forced me to be more creative and really think outside the box about how to make the fights different. A lot of my fighters were heavily influenced by Japanese anime."
